Founded in 1987 the Kineton & District Local History Group has mounted exhibitions, arranged for specialists to identify local bygones, and members have contributed to academic research programmes, notably the Battlefields Trust research into the site of the Kineton Fight, more popularly known as the Battle of Edgehill. Other members have researched the memorials in St Peter’s Church and the history of notable local families, click on Short Articles for more. See menu on left hand side for pages of interest.
The Group has regular monthly meetings usually held on the third Friday of the month in Kineton Village Hall from September through to May. Doors open at 7 pm for a prompt 7.30 pm start. The current membership is about one hundred strong and meetings are normally well attended. Annual membership is only £15.00 and visitors are also welcome to individual meetings for a nominal charge of £3.00 each (children up to 12 years £1.50). Tea, coffee and biscuits are also available prior the talks/presentations.
New members are always welcome so why not come and join us.
